Texas State Optical-Stone OakOur office in San Antonio, Texas was founded in 2010. We wanted a private practice providing compassionate care with advanced technology and a well trained, caring staff.

She located in the Stone Oak area since it has many excellent private practices providing medical care and is centrally located for patient access. The location especially allows her specialty contact lens patients from south Texas and Austin area easy access to the practice. TSO-Stone Oak is located in the Stone Ridge shopping center by HEB Plus and PetSmart.

Texas State Optical is a network of independent optometrist allowing for better pricing on products which is passed onto our patients. It serves as an incredible exchange of information between doctors including “Best Practices”, staff training and doctor education opportunities. Texas State Optical is 80 years old and the doctors of TSO have provided more eye care to Texans than any other group! Staying on the cutting edge of eye care services and “Caring for the Eyes of Texas” is what sets us apart from other optometry clinics.

Our state of the art technology allows us to diagnose and treat ocular disease such as glaucoma, diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration. Texas State Optical-Stone Oak offers a comfortable waiting area, two exam and pretesting lanes and an area dedicated to fitting contact lenses.

Not only can we fit soft lenses but also specialty lenses such as gas permeable, scleral lenses and hybrid lenses for the treatment of keratoconus and other corneal diseases. We are affiliates of Dell Laser consultants in Austin providing cross-linking for our keratoconus patients. We are also affiliates of TLC proving LASIK, other refractive surgery and cataract surgery including multifocal implants for our patients.

Our trained opticians will assist you in finding the perfect pair of glasses for your face shape and check that all the eyewear measurements are correct for you and your prescription.

Our patients love the ZEISS DuraVision BlueProtect anti-glare that blocks some of the blue light from our monitors, phones and fluorescent lighting. DuraVision BlueProtect is very soothing to the eyes and decreases computer eyestrain. We have progressive lenses that provide distortion free viewing and no swimming effect while looking down. Patients tell our staff, “I’ve heard TSO has the best progressive lenses!”.

We can make many single vision glasses the same day, including polycarbonate safety lenses, anti-glare and anti-scratch coatings and UV blocker. Our patients appreciate the convenience of same day glasses and they can even use their vision insurance.

We love our pediatric patients and have an extensive collection of eye glasses for them to choose. We see patients as young as 5 years old with the experience and caring our young patients require.

Dr. Jaclyn Hutchins joined the practice in 2015. Having a profound knowledge and understanding of the visual system as well as eye diseases. They are devoted to serving our patients with compassion and quality eye care. Our staff is dedicated to ensuring that each patient is treated with care and comfort.
